Food allergy (FA) is a condition in which the body experiences an adverse immune response to specific dietary proteins. The introduction of biologic therapy has emerged as a promising treatment for this complex condition. This article discusses omalizumab, an anti-IgE monoclonal antibody that is the first in its class to be approved to address the underlying immunologic mechanisms driving FA.
