Indications
For use in corneal collagen cross-linking with the KXL System: to treat progressive keratoconus or corneal ectasia following refractive surgery.
Photrexa Viscous Dosage and Administration
Adult
Debride epithelium to approx. 9mm diameter using standard aseptic technique: see full labeling. ≥14yrs: Instill 1 drop (Photrexa Viscous) every 2mins for 30mins; examine eye (under slit lamp) for yellow flare in the anterior chamber. If the yellow flare is not detected, instill 1 drop (Photrexa Viscous) every 2mins for another 2–3 drops and recheck; repeat as necessary. If detected, perform ultrasound pachymetry. If corneal thickness <400microns: instill 2 drops (Photrexa) every 5–10secs until it increases to ≥400microns. For use during eye irradiation, see full labeling.

Warnings/Precautions
Must use with the KXL System only. Not for injection. Ulcerative keratitis; monitor for resolution of epithelial defects. Advise patients not to rub eyes for first 5 days after procedure. Monitor for severe eye pain or sudden decrease in vision. Pregnancy: not recommended. Nursing mothers.
