Indications
Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP).
Phospholine Iodide Dosage and Administration
Adult
1 drop twice daily, in the AM and at bedtime (1 drop once daily or every other day have been used). Apply finger pressure to inner canthus for 1–2mins after instillation.

Not applicable.

Contraindications
Active uveal inflammation. Angle-closure glaucoma without iridectomy.

Warnings/Precautions
Discontinue or withhold if cardiac irregularities, salivation, urinary incontinence, diarrhea, profuse sweating, muscle weakness, or respiratory difficulties occur. Vagotonia. Bronchial asthma. Spastic GI disturbances. Peptic ulcer. Pronounced bradycardia. Hypotension. Recent MI. Epilepsy. Parkinsonism. History of retinal detachment. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers: not recommended.

Caution with other cholinesterase inhibitors (eg, succinylcholine, organophosphate and carbamate insecticides); additive effects.
Phospholine Iodide Adverse Reactions
Adverse Reactions
Stinging, burning, lacrimation, lid muscle twitching, conjunctival and ciliary redness, browache, induced myopia, visual blurring, activation of latent iritis, uveitis, iris cysts (esp. in children), conjunctival thickening, obstruction of nasolacrimal canals, lens opacities, retinal detachment, paradoxical increase in IOP, cardiac irregularities.

Concomitant esotropias with a significant accommodative component.
Phospholine Iodide Dosage and Administration
Adult
Not applicable.
Children
Diagnosis: 1 drop once daily in both eyes at bedtime for a period of 2 or 3 weeks. Treatment: after diagnostic period, reduce to 1 drop once every other day; usual max: 1 drop once daily. Apply finger pressure to inner canthus for 1–2mins after instillation.
