Indications

Alzheimer's dementia.

Adlarity Dosage and Administration

Adult

Apply to clean, dry, intact skin on the back (avoiding the spine). If needed, may apply to the upper buttocks or upper outer thigh. Press down firmly for 30secs. Do not use if patch is damaged, cut, or altered. Rotate application site every 2 weeks. Initially 5mg/day once weekly; may increase to max 10mg/day after 4–6 weeks. Replace the patch after 7 days. History of allergic contact dermatitis with previous use.

Warnings/Precautions

Application-site skin reactions. Use during anesthesia. Cardiac conduction abnormalities. Peptic ulcer. Monitor for GI bleeding. Bladder outflow obstruction. Seizures. Asthma or COPD. Avoid long exposure to external heat. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

Interactions

Antagonizes anticholinergics. May potentiate succinylcholine-type muscle relaxants, similar neuromuscular blocking agents, other cholinesterase inhibitors, or cholinergic agonists (eg, bethanecol). Concomitant NSAIDs may increase risk of GI bleed.

Nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, vomiting, muscle cramps, fatigue, anorexia, ecchymosis; allergic contact dermatitis.
